Compa-ratio
Your base pay compared with a stated midpoint.
What does it mean?
Compa-ratio is base pay divided by the employer’s range midpoint, usually shown as a percentage. “Compa” is short for comparison.
Why does it matter?
It gives a shared reference for discussing placement within an employer’s pay structure.
How can it affect my pay or career?
A number below 100% means pay is below that midpoint—not proof of unfairness, underpayment or a guaranteed raise. Ask about the band, role scope and employer policy.

Use the same pay period for every amount (all annual or all hourly). Enter base pay and the employer’s band—not BLS percentiles.
