Who is responsible

Compensation Common Sense (CCS) is operated by Durrell Lee, an individual sole proprietor in Texas, United States. Durrell Lee is the data controller: the person who decides how and why your personal information is used. Privacy questions: Durrelltl@gmail.com.

What we collect and why

  • Account and profile: email, login details, job title, occupation, ZIP code or remote setting. To create your account and show local pay benchmarks. Basis: providing the service you asked for.
  • Current pay (optional): only if you enter it, stored in a separate private record. To show your market position. Basis: your choice to provide it; you can delete it anytime.
  • Skills and credentials: skill names, proficiency, credential names and expiry dates (never ID or license numbers). To compare your skills with target jobs.
  • Resumes: resume text you paste or build. To suggest skills and generate resume help.
  • Pasted job descriptions: to compare a job posting with your profile.
  • Saved career information: your target job, Career Action Plan steps and answers you save.
  • Subscription status: plan, status and renewal dates received from Paddle. To decide Premium access. We do not receive or store your full card details.
  • Limited analytics: page visits and feature use, recorded with simple predefined labels. To understand which features help people and to fix problems. Basis: our legitimate interest in improving CCS.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device information in server logs. For security and fraud prevention.

Raw resumes, job descriptions, salary figures and credential details are never placed into our general analytics.

AI processing

Some features (job-title matching, job description matching, resume help) send the relevant text to an AI service to process your request. That text is used only to produce your result.

Who we share it with

  • Service providers that host the app and database, provide AI processing and search for public events, under confidentiality obligations.
  • Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for selling Premium, managing subscriptions, processing payments, tax compliance and invoicing. Paddle collects your payment details directly under its own privacy notice.
  • Professional advisers such as legal or accounting advisers, when needed.
  • Authorities when required by law.

We do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete information or your account, we delete or anonymize it, except where we must keep limited records (such as subscription history) for legal, tax or security reasons.

Your choices and rights

You can view, correct or delete most of your information in My Profile. You can also email Durrelltl@gmail.com to request a copy of your data, correction, deletion, or to opt out of non-essential processing. Depending on your state (for example California, Texas, Virginia or Colorado), you may have additional rights, including appealing a decision. We will not treat you differently for using these rights, and we respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days).

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections, access controls that limit each user to their own records, and keeping sensitive fields such as current pay in separate private storage. No system is perfectly secure.

Cookies and local storage

CCS uses essential browser storage to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party marketing cookies. Paddle's checkout may set its own cookies when you pay.

Children

CCS is for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
