Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are

Compensation Common Sense ("CCS", "we", "us") is operated by Durrell Lee, an individual sole proprietor based in Texas, United States. When you use CCS, you are contracting with Durrell Lee. CCS is a brand name, not a registered company. Contact: Durrelltl@gmail.com.

2. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or continuing to use CCS, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use CCS. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live.

3. What CCS is

CCS is an educational and informational service about pay and careers. It shows U.S. market pay benchmarks, career comparisons, skills information, learning content and resume tools.

  • CCS does not guarantee any pay level, employment, job offer, promotion or career outcome.
  • Market pay figures are informational benchmarks. They are not a promise or statement of what any person should earn.
  • Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), O*NET and other third parties may change, may be delayed, and has limitations. We label sources and dates, but we cannot guarantee their accuracy or completeness.
  • Pay Concerns and Learn content is general educational information, not legal, tax or financial advice. CCS is not a law firm. For your specific situation, contact a licensed attorney or the relevant government agency.

4. Your responsibilities

  • Keep your login details private. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Review and confirm everything in your resume, profile and job applications before you use it. You are responsible for what you submit to employers.

5. Acceptable use

You must not misuse CCS. This includes: using it unlawfully; fraud or spam; infringing anyone's intellectual property; uploading malware; probing, scanning or attacking our systems; scraping or bulk-copying content; reverse engineering; reselling or redistributing the service; or getting around usage limits.

6. Ownership

Durrell Lee owns CCS, including its software, design, written content and branding. We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use CCS within your plan. You keep ownership of the content you add (such as your resume). You allow us to store and process it only to provide the service to you.

7. Premium subscription

Premium is a paid subscription billed monthly or yearly at the price shown on the Pricing page at checkout. It renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, taxes, cancellation and refund mechanics are also governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms.

  • Cancellation: you can cancel anytime from My Profile. Premium stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, then your account returns to Free.
  • Refunds: you can request a full refund within 14 days of a purchase. See our Refund Policy.
  • Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails, Premium continues for up to 5 days while the payment is retried. If it is still unpaid after that, Premium pauses until payment succeeds.

8. Service availability

We work to keep CCS available and accurate, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue features.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access for a serious breach of these terms, non-payment, a security or fraud risk, or repeated violations. You can delete your account at any time. When access ends, we delete or anonymize your personal data as described in our Privacy Notice.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

CCS is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Durrell Lee and Compensation Common Sense will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost wages, lost profits, lost opportunities, loss of employment, or lost data arising from or related to your use of CCS.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising from or related to CCS will not exceed the greater of:

(a) the amount you paid for CCS during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or

(b) $50.

These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded, including liability arising from fraud, willful misconduct, or other rights or remedies that cannot be waived under applicable law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to cover claims against us that arise from your content, your unlawful use of CCS, or your violation of these terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.

13. Other terms

We are not responsible for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control. You may not transfer your account without our consent. We may update these terms; if changes are significant, we will post the new date here and, where appropriate, notify you. Questions: Durrelltl@gmail.com.
